How we collect, use, and protect your information when you use overtimecalc.com.

At overtimecalc.com (“we,” “our,” “us”), we're committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.

01

Information we collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information (email, password) if you create an account
  • Timesheet data you choose to save (hours, rates, dates)
  • Communications you send to us

Information collected automatically:

  • Device information (browser, operating system)
  • Usage data (pages visited, time spent, features used)
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies

02

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our calculators and services
  • Create and manage your account if you register
  • Save and retrieve your timesheets if you're logged in
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

03

Email communications

By creating an account or providing your email, you consent to receive email communications from us, including account notifications, service updates, educational content, and occasional marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time. Transactional emails (password resets, security alerts) will continue regardless.

04

Calculator data

Anonymous calculations: When you use our calculators without an account, all calculations happen in your browser. We do not collect or store your hourly rate, hours worked, or results.

Saved timesheets: If you create an account and save timesheets, that data is stored on our servers and associated with your account. You can delete saved timesheets any time from your account settings.

05

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, analyze traffic, and improve the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings — disabling them may limit functionality.

06

Advertising

We display advertisements through Google AdSense and other third-party networks. These partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and others. Each partner has its own privacy policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings, the NAI opt-out, or the DAA opt-out.

07

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand traffic and usage patterns. The data collected (anonymized IP, browser type, pages, time spent) is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

08

Information sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the site (hosting, analytics)
  • Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights
  • Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale
  • Anyone you authorize via explicit consent

09

Data security

We implement technical and organizational measures including encryption, secure servers, and access controls. No transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10

Data retention

We retain your account information and saved timesheets while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

11

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

12

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have specific rights under the CCPA: the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it (subject to exceptions), the right to opt out of any “sale” of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA, though we do share data with advertising partners (which CCPA may classify as a sale). Opt-out methods are listed under Advertising above.

To exercise CCPA rights, contact [email protected]. We respond to verifiable requests within 45 days.

13

Children's privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we have, contact us immediately.

14

Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before sharing information.

15

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted to this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
